Procedures & Rules

Tournament Policies and Registration

  • Check-in opens at 8:00 am. All players must check in by 10:00 am.
  • Each player must complete the electronic player waiver before participating.
  • Registered players will receive a bracelet and must wear it. No Bracelet = No play.
  • 8- aside tourney with a maximum of 15 players can be on a roster.
  • Teams playing unregistered players will be asked to leave the tournament.
  • Teams must have five players to begin a game. Teams are allowed a 5-minute grace period before a forfeit is called. The time will start running as soon as the bullhorn sounds.
  • An out-of-bound ball via the sidelines results in a throw-in. Players receiving a red card will be suspended from their next game. The tournament committee may apply a multiple-game suspension depending on the offense’s severity.
  • If the goalkeeper uses their hands to control the ball, their throws or kicks must not go beyond the mid-field line without touching a player or the ground. If this happens, the referee will award the opposing team an indirect free kick (IFK). The IFK will be taken from the mid-field line where the ball passes over the line. This rule applies to the goalkeeper’s drop-kicks, goal kicks, punts, and throws.
  • The goalkeeper may completely release the ball from their hands to the ground and then play it as any field player may do (once they do, they may be challenged as an opponent might challenge any opposing field player).
  • We do not require numbers on the back of jerseys, but teams should wear the same color. Team captains, please either bring pennies or have players bring a second shirt for home white (if your regular jersey is not white). If white doesn’t work, please pick another color different from your regular jersey.
  • If you are the home team, you are responsible for providing the game ball (if one is not on the field).
  • GGWSL expects good sportspersonship from all players and fans. Play hard, but respect your opponent and the referees and their decisions.
